Build Your Own Confidence

Every now and then I enjoy looking back at some of the videos I’ve shot in the past. I may have been at a certain level of fitness, or the momentum was strong within my fitness, business, mindset, training and my life.

I can see it on me.  I can feel it through my words.

Confidence is not something I was naturally born with. The confidence I exude today was built. It’s a quality that I have continuously worked on my entire life, ever since I lifted my first weight in sixth grade.

Many of you are here to build more confidence in your own lives.  Some of you have gotten there, some are on their way there, or some are struggling to keep it together.

My Challenge to You

I challenge you to shoot a video of yourself.

You don’t have to show it to anyone. I want to shoot a video of myself to tell myself how I feel when I need to get back on track. Sometimes I have to check myself saying “Motherfucker get it together. Motherfucker, remember how you feel in this moment.”

This is a motivational technique to keep your ass on track. To remind yourself that the food isn’t worth it. To remind yourself that the bullshit that you’re dealing with isn’t worth fucking it up. The discipline will create the freedom and confidence that you are searching for in life.

Discipline is freedom, but the confidence you build through the discipline is where the real freedom is.

We ALL Need a Reminder

Everyone needs a reminder from time to time. Stay in the pocket and keep pushing. The goal line will continue to stretch but remember that the processes and methods you use over time are the key to staying on the path.

The technique I am referring to in this article happened on accident. One time I just happened to stumble on one of my old videos. At the point in time I watched it, I didn’t feel even close to what I saw. I fucking hated it. I remembered going home that day wondering where the fuck that guy was. Why don’t I feel like that dude? What did I allow to happen to take me off the path?

Get in the pocket, then stay there.

I challenge myself to do this when I’m struggling. I challenge you to do the same if you are in a good spot today. Use this strategy as a safety net to lean on for when you’re having a bad day.
