4 Tips for Acting on Your Passion - CoryG Fitness

#1 Free time and mentors

What do you do with your free time? What makes you happy? Does time fly by when you partake in this action? When I was just 14 years old, I could just lift weights for hours and hours. This led to me being obsessed with reading about lifting weights in magazines. It became very evident to me what direction I had to go with my life. What wasn’t evident to me was what I had to do next. What happens is that most people in your life will see it as a hobby, and you’ll see it as your passion.

Who makes money doing what you defined as your passion? How can you learn and grow from this person? What material of theirs can you read up on? What kind of options do you have available in your sector? Once you have the answers to these questions, the most important thing to do is act, but most won’t unfortunately.
What will it take to learn to make this a reality? Mentors can be some of best resources to utilize on your path, so make sure to seek them out.

#2 Reverse engineer

Let’s say you want to open a gym, but right now you sell insurance. In this scenario, the majority of people are paralyzed with the fear of that they will never start because Point A to Point B seems light years away.
You must work backwards to get a true strategy on how this will happen. Knowing these actionable steps towards your ultimate goal and having some type of plan makes the world of difference. The most interesting aspect is going to be where the process takes you. You will adapt along the way.

#3 Daily action

Taking daily action is the golden ticket to expediting your goals. Chasing your passion while having another job you don’t want can make it tough, but you have to bite the bullet to provide for your family.

That being said, you must become the most effective person with your time so that you can maximize your output to make your dreams a reality. Whether it is 20 minutes or 2 hours, doing something productive every day is a major key to staying on track. I urge you to sleep less, and to evaluate your time to see how much you are indeed wasting.

#4 Visualization

Why is this important? I’ve had things that have happened to me that I had visualized for many years. One of the things that I wanted was to be on a magazine cover. I would walk into Barnes & Noble, go over to the magazine section and pick up one. Doing this tapped into the emotional part of my mind, and how it would feel to make this a reality.

This goes hand in hand with making your dreams a reality. There’s a town east of Columbus called Granville that drew my wife and I’s attention. On my vision board, I had a specific picture of what I wanted my dream house to be. We stumbled across a house outside of Granville that we just knew that it was the house for us. It was out of our price range, but after meeting with the owner, he saw how much we wanted this house, and could see where I was coming from. The owner threw me an ally oop pass and knocked down the price to what I was asking for, but I was having issues with the bank approving the loan.

After going to 13 banks, a bank manager finally got it done for me. Something inside of me just knew that this house was the one for my family and I, and I just couldn’t let it go. This stems from me wanting to change my living situation so bad, from living in the trailer. I can’t put into words the gratitude I have for the people that have helped me along the way. The power of visualization is something that is so real, and if put into practice, it can produce powerful things.
