I’ll use myself as an example.
If you’ve followed me for any period of time, you would know that I have rules & strategies in place. Rules for drinking alcohol, training, nutrition, work, personal development, and my commitments on the calendar.
These rules serve as guideposts. They keep me between the lines.
Everyone needs to rest. Everyone needs a reset from time to time. It’s exactly what I do when I come off a powerlifting meet or bodybuilding show, for example. BUT, I hate the feeling of not having my rules in place. I hate the feeling of no order.
I don’t like the feeling because it’s the discipline that has given me the freedom that I now enjoy.
