Bad Habits to Avoid: Part 1 - CoryG Fitness

Drifting Aimlessly

When a person doesn’t know where they’re going, it’s hard to be focused. There’s no path.

You’ve heard us numerous times about putting a date on the calendar. You’ve heard us talk about the extra push and the no-matter-what mentality. Over and over again. I’m thinking back to my first attempt with dunking. I quit because I didn’t have a date. Then, when I said I was going to dunk by my birthday, I did it.

Giving myself a deadline forced me to do the extra things to reach my goal… no matter what.

I told everyone around me. It doesn’t matter whether you’re projecting it to thousands of followers, friends, or simply a few family members. It’s the point of the matter.

If I didn’t get it, I knew that I was going to get it. Meaning, if I didn’t get it on that exact date, I would have gotten it the next week or the week after. Once you have things locked in, you push the gas to the floor.

What about the wanderer?

A wandering individual with no goals or ambition can never get to where they want to go because there is no path.

Maybe you’re struggling to stay on your nutrition plan or you’re not where you want to be. It’s because you are wandering aimlessly through the day without purpose.

Carnegie & Napoleon Hill talk in depth about developing a definite purpose. This can fall into many categories such as work, business, physique, and relationship goals.

Setting the date

When I put a date on the calendar to solidify my commitment, people started getting behind me. They loved watching the process and progress week over week.

My advice? Set a date. Set a time. Set a goal.

Push yourself to do what is necessary to realize the goal you have set. Doing so will present you with a whole new operating structure.

When you understand this power, then you will understand where you want to go. Adopting the essential habits will help you reach your goals and give you a deeper understanding of the system. Once you understand the process, why would you change it?

People STILL ask me…

Why do you still get up early? Why do you still lunge?

Because I know what the process yields me. I know that I’m going to get the positive results that I want. All that’s left for you to do is to continue making it better through testing and refining.

You must understand that there’s no true finish line. In order to grow, you have to continually push yourself. You have to do the work.
