You aren’t even close to reaching your full potential.  I’m not even close to my full potential.  Every day we leave some on the table.

We try hard, we think we’re trying, we’re pushing, but we still have more.  Most people actualize only a fraction of their full potential.  That’s why I’m constantly pushing the envelope.  I know that I can be pushed even more to test the limits.  Exposure to uncomfortable situations is where the growth lives.

Most people think they are overtrained or think they are pushing hard, when in reality they’re leaving way more on the table.  The human body is an amazing thing.  Over time, society has gotten soft.  A percentage of it leaks into everyone, myself included.

Think about it… when you stop something early, cut your sets short, or decide to hit the snooze button 2-3 times, you are leaving shit on the table.  It’s slowing your progress.  You’re not going to be able to go full-send every day, I get it, but always keep this concept in the back of your mind.  Quit leaving so much on the table.

Today when I pulled my last deadlift, it was literally everything I had.  I pulled 455 pounds, through doubled up mini-bands (220 pounds at lock-out), off of two mats.  When I got it moving off the ground, I knew it was going to be a fucking dog fight.  I gave it everything I had.  When I made the lift, it was an unbelievable feeling.

That’s my point.  Don’t leave it to chance because you didn’t try.
