In this video below, I just got done lunging 800m, which many of you are partaking in because of the #IWANTABZ Contest, Get Stacked 32, summertime approaching or challenging your GPP/Conditioning/Strength levels.
Here’s the deal: I know why you aren’t lunging. IT’S FUCKING HARD. That said, you have absolutely no excuse for not doing them because you can do them anywhere. What I would recommend is to go to a track once to test out how long it takes for you to do 400 and 800 meters. After that you can do them anywhere. I’ve lunged on a cruise ship on the top deck and in the hallway, down the hotel hallway in Vegas, and even in the parking lot at Disneyland. There’s no excuse.
“I know why you aren’t lunging. IT’S FUCKING HARD. That said, you have absolutely no excuse for not doing them because you can do them anywhere.”
When I had patellar tendonitis I incorporated lunges into my routine, and the pain went away. When I had lower back issues, I threw in more lunges and again the pain went away. Yes, the lunges are very difficult, but you are missing out on so many benefits by not doing them.

Sometimes I’ll have people reach out to me saying, “Anabolic Fasting isn’t working.” I ask, “Are you lunging?” The response, “I’m trying to lunge once or twice per week.” What this tells me is that you probably aren’t lunging at all or maybe once a week. That’s some bullshit. Trying to do something is different than actually doing it.
“Trying to do something is different than actually doing it.”
HERE’S WHAT YOU ARE MISSING:
#1 A FASTER METABOLISM
I NEVER have found anything better condition-wise that is better than walking lunges to ramp up the metabolism. I’ve experimented over the years with the other conditioning equipment and there’s not even a comparison.
#2 CONNECTIVE TISSUE STRENGTH
This is applicable to ANYONE. Maybe you are getting older and want to be able to play with your kids without your knees and joints hurting, maybe you are a competitive powerlifter or maybe you just want to be super lean. There have been times where I slipped and knew that I should have torn something, but due to the miles of lunges that I have racked up i was completely fine.
#3 THE MIND
lunging gives you the opportunity to work on your mind and to learn. It sections you off from the world so that you can give you full attention to what you are going through right then and there. Mentally and physically getting through the lunges while feeding your brain knowledge at the same time.
